CONTROLLER – BUSINESS MANAGER
POSITION REPORTS TO: President/CEO, Corporate CFO’s, and General Manager
POSITION PURPOSE: Overseeing and supervising company activities, and employees to align with company goals. Responsible for financial reporting ensuring the efficiency of the business operations as well as setting strategic goals for sustained success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- GUIDES BUSINESS FINANCIAL DECISIONS by administering, establishing, recommending, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures; developing and implementing policies and procedures that enhance productivity and efficiency of all business functions.
- MANAGE CASH FLOW, AND LIMITS RISK, ON CASH by assisting in the daily care, custody, and management of funds, control of cash collections and of payrolls, 401k management, and other cash disbursements within established policy.
- MONITORS AND CONFIRMS FINANCIAL CONDITION by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors; coordinating financial reporting; budgeting and other financial activities as required. Handling special assignments i.e. PPP Loan applications on behalf of President/CEO as requested.
- BUSINESS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Payroll, HR, AP, AR, credit management, month end, reporting, benefits, insurance, contracts, budgets, legal, audits.
- BUSINESS AND CULTURE AWARENESS. Must be in touch with the pulse of the company. Work to create a culture where employees are valued and can provide maximum value to the company.
- COMMUNICATE CLEARLY AND FREQUENTLY by informing the CEO and appropriate leaders of activities, progress, situations within the Company; recommending policy changes that would enhance the success of the Company; work with department managers to provide strategic leadership, consultation, critical evaluation, and recommendations.
- PROTECTS FCC LICENSE by maintaining the public file in compliance with the FCC Public and Broadcasting required standards. Manage the required FCC EEO compliance and reporting that safeguard the station’s FCC license.
- PROTECTS OPERATIONS by keeping business and personnel information and plans confidential.
- CONTRIBUTE TO TEAM EFFORT by accomplishing related results as needed; working effectively in a team environment; maintaining a positive rapport with colleagues, vendors, and clients; performing under stress while meeting Company deadlines and needs.
- WORK IN COMPLIANCE WITH COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES by taking a proactive role in supporting the Company’s policy to prevent harassment of any kind within the workplace, at off-site places of Company business, and at Company-sponsored social venues.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Education: Degree in Business Management, Accounting, or equivalent with 7-10 years’ applicable work experience in Finance sector preferred.
Computer Skills: Thoroughly conversant and experienced with accounting, payroll, and computer programs/software (Quickbooks, Wide Orbit Traffic, and ADP for payroll a plus)
Experience:
- Thorough knowledge of and experience with business acumen, including strategic planning, budgeting, payroll, dealing with general business problems, conditions, and development of policies, procedures, and systems.
- Proven ability to work effectively in every interaction required during the performance of assigned job responsibilities, including sound communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrate competence in making positive impact on Company’s culture and financial results by using sound decision making skills and ethical practices with emphasis on consulting and counseling with management and department heads.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Experience in Radio or Media, including continuing education in relevant functions of business management and Finance.
Supervisory responsibilities—This position manages and is responsible for the supervision of the Office Manager and Traffic Manager(s).

and post-sale successes
● Ability to use both an analytical and creative mindset
● Positive attitude for troubleshooting and timely resolution
● Must be highly organized and able to handle several projects at one time while also working on
tight deadlines
● Experience using Nielsen, WideOrbit, Media Monitors, Futuri and/or Rumple, a PLUS.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred

As our business needs have evolved, we have a need to hire someone dedicated to focusing on our digital advertising solutions to our local market clients. You’ll be the key liaison, providing clients with unique, creative & innovative multi-media advertising ideas that will help them drive their marketing goals and objectives.
As the Digital Media Sales Manager, you will be responsible for pursuing digital advertising sales with regional & local clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital media advertising platforms, data performance analytics and emerging trends in the digital marketing landscape. You will work independently and collaboratively with our sales team to identify targets, conduct client needs analysis meetings and present/close business.
Responsibilities:
● Develop and pitch multi-media advertising campaigns to potential clients
● Work hands-on with VP of Marketing & Sales to maximize opportunities and grow revenue in our current markets
● Assist Radio Account Executives with digital media strategy and proposal development
● Win digital clients through new business development efforts including prospecting, scheduling face to face and virtual appointments with potential clients
● Deliver compelling, customized marketing presentations with confidence
● Maintain productive client communication to ensure client satisfaction
● Monitor competition to continually prospect new account leads
● Negotiate rates and ensure prompt payments
● Follow all station procedures for preparing orders, resolving billing issues, submitting regular reports regarding sales, pipeline lists, forecasts, and competitive analysis using CRM
● Oversee campaign launch, assist with the creative process and gather all needed sales collateral including logos, artwork, images, keywords, geofence locations, qualitative & quantitative datasets and other information as necessary
● Present analytics and performance updates to the client and onboard them with the use of our dashboard
Qualifications:
● 1-3 years of successful digital and/or traditional media sales experience
● Strong understanding of digital media (display, Social, SEM, CTV, Online Video) and ability to connect with viable prospects
● Experience with digital advertising self-serve platforms & solutions (Frequence, a plus)
● Excellent communication skills – strong presenter to clients of integrated media opportunities and post-sale successes
● Ability to use both an analytical and creative mindset

As an Account Executive for the Milwaukee Radio Alliance you are responsible for developing and maintaining new clients/Advertisers. You will also keep and grow client relationships and offer solutions to help advertisers achieve the business goals.

PART TIME STREET TEAM
The Milwaukee Radio Alliance is looking for part time Street Team Members for our four unique radio stations:
B93.3 WLDB-FM; FM 102/1 WLUM-FM; Froggy MKE WLDB HD3 107.3FM and 100.3FM, and 1290AM WZTI-AM FONZ-AM.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist with on site promotions including all aspects of production and execution of client events, station events, concerts and meet and greets.
● Execute proper technical and physical set-up and breakdown (audio equipment, promotional tents, hang banners and other staging elements); ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the fly.
● Act as a Brand Ambassador; represent stations at events in an upbeat, outgoing and friendly manner by interacting with listeners and clients.
● Collaborate with the social media department by producing user generated content at events.
Qualifications:
● Excellent driving record, valid driver’s license and proof of insurability.
● Physical ability to stand for multiple hours and lift or move 40-pound objects.
● Organizational skills; ability to prioritize and effectively manage time.
● Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return.
